Finally, whatʼs the best way to start out a conversation with a nice looking french person? PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS? is also the solo project of the parisian Matthieu “Brice” Brismontier, who wanted to mix different music styles he loved into a think thank of Groovy Electronic Post Disco Synth Rock inspirations, whose key words could be : electronic simplicity, melodic efficiency and analogic groove… After releasing a first EP "Pronounce : Par-Ley-Vu-En-Gley » (FTW, 2010), PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS? carries on realizing 2 «do it yourself» videoclips. The project gains then some attention on the blogs, mainly with a synthetic disco cover of Et si tu n’existais pas (Joe Dassin) and a Lisztomania remix (Phoenix). At that time, the PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS? & THE FRENCH MANUCURE band is formed and after a few live shows (Espace B, International, Le Tigre..) gets noticed by SFR Jeunes Talents to play at Le Printemps de Bourges festival. The new « Sunglasses & Shirts» EP (FTW 2012), mixed in the famous Studios de la Seine in Paris, is a cool blend of simple and catchy guitar riffs layered on 80’s synths pads. It will be available digitally on the march 1st. PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS?‘s influences could make you think of some DFA artists (LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture…), while other tunes turn to an Electronic Rock close from We Made Who, on which you could add a disco touch borrowed from Calvin Harris, without forgetting some analogies to some prog-rock bands… When you grow up in the 90‘s, you’re inevitably influenced by decades of musical revolutions, and PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS? is kind of the outcome of this unbelievable mixture. =====

Finalement, quelle est la meilleure façon de démarrer une conversation quand on ne parle pas la langue de Molière? PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS?, C’est aussi le projet solo de Matthieu «Brice» Brismontier, expatrié parisien désirant mélanger tous les styles musicaux qui lui tenaient à coeur afin de les regrouper dans un think tank d’inspiration Electro Rock Post Disco Rétro Cosmique dont les maîtres mots seraient : simplicité électronique, efficacité mélodique et groove analogique… Après la sortie d’un premier EP « Pronounce : Par-Ley-Vu-En-Gley » sur le label FTW, PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS? enchaîne en réalisant 2 clips dans l’art du «do it yourself». Le projet se fait alors remarquer par quelques blogs, notamment grâce à une reprise Disco synthétique du classique Et si tu n’existais pas de Joe Dassin et un remix de Lisztomania (Phoenix). Le groupe PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS? & THE FRENCH MANUCURE se forme alors et après quelques concerts (Espace B, International, OPA…) se fait repérer par SFR Jeunes Talents pour jouer au Printemps de Bourges 2011! Le nouvel EP « Sunglasses & Shirts» (FTW), mixé dans les célèbres Studios de la Seine à Paris, est un mélange de riffs simples et accrocheurs posés sur des nappes de synthés à l’esthétique eighties. Il sera dispo en digital à partir 1er mars. Les influences façonnant le projet rappellent certains artistes du label DFA (LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture…), alors que d’autres morceaux bifurquent plus vers un Electro Rock proche de We Have Band, auxquels on ajouterait une touche disco empruntée à Who Made Who, sans oublier quelques analogies à certains groupes de rock progressif… Lorsqu’on grandit dans les années 90, on en sort forcément imprégné de plusieurs dizaines d’années de révolutions musicales en tous genres, et PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS?, c’est un peu la recette de ce mélange improbable.
